Lone soul designs

Outpost Hat Co. started on the road. At 20, I spent years driving through Montana, the Dakotas, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado — working odd jobs, helping ranchers, and living out of my truck. The days started early and ended late. Some nights I crashed in the cab, other times wherever I could find a spot. Those years taught me what hard work feels like and how to be content with the simple stuff.

During that time, I started paying attention to how people carried themselves — how a good hat could tell you a lot about someone. The beat-up ones, sweat-stained and shaped from years of use, always seemed to have the best stories behind them. That’s where the idea for Outpost Hat Co. came from. I wanted to build something that fit into that world — gear made to be used, not just worn.

Outpost Hat Co. isn’t about trends or trying to stand out. It’s about building something that lasts — simple, well-made hats built for real life. They’re made for the ones who spend more time outside than in, for the folks who fix what’s broken and keep going when the road gets rough. Each hat is a small nod to the kind of work ethic and independence that’s hard to find these days.

To me, Outpost isn’t just a name — it’s a reminder of all those quiet miles, those long drives through nowhere, and the kind of people you meet along the way. Every hat that leaves here is made with that same spirit. No gimmicks, no shortcuts — just honest, quality gear meant to hold up through the same kind of miles that inspired it in the first place.
